During 2006 we have worked to establish the training courses in Traditional Upholstery and these have been a great success. We are particularly delighted by those students who have undertaken the diploma and have produced some wonderful examples of the craft. blank

In Spring Sheena decided to learn the skills of traditional upholstery. Her projects have included a set of regency dining chairs and a pair of antique armchairs. Currently Sheena is upholstering a brand new 2 seat sofa frame which KU had manufactured specially for her. Camille came in summer to do a six week course which she has spread over a four month period. This antique chaise was her first piece. She has now completed her fifth week and is well on her way to finishing a Bentwood Art Deco three piece suite. In November Carol took the first steps towards a new career in traditional upholstery beginning with a six week diploma course. She has now returned home to Scotland to practice her skills and establish her own business. We wish her well for the future.
