An introduction to our Courses and Workshops

If you've always wanted to tackle traditional upholstery, Now's your chance to learn.

If you love antique furniture, or yearn to restore an old piece back to its former glory, you can learn all the necessary skills of traditional upholstery in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District.

Our courses aim to teach time honoured, traditional skills using tools, materials and techniques that have developed since the first upholsterer decided to attach fabric and stuffings to stools back in the 1600s. All courses take place at the workshop in Crook, within the Lake District National Park.

Learning the skills of a traditional upholsterer is a journey steeped in history. Our courses can help you travel that road and will be tailored to your needs whether you are at the beginning, learning basic skills or further developing skills that have already been acquired.
